If you want to escape your corporate grind and drive away into your dream life, finding cheap or free camping solutions is key.
Escaping into a nomad life might be tempting, but figuring out how to keep your budget low by camping on-the-cheap takes a little work. That’s why I’ve outlined six, in-depth articles on how you can easily find all kinds of great camping options, from camping long-term on our beautiful public lands, to staying for a night or two along your route.
Each of these articles gives you all the tools you need to hit the road, without the sometimes crippling cost of staying at full-hook up RV parks and campgrounds:
- How to Find Free Camping on BLM Land
- How to Find Free Camping in National Forests
- How to Camp for Free with Harvest Hosts
- How to RV Overnight at Cracker Barrel and Walmart
- How to RV Overnight at Truck Stops
- How to RV Overnight at Rest Areas
With the tools included in each if the links above, you never have to worry about finding a free overnight spot. Personally, I love the seclusion and beauty of camping on Public Lands, like BLM and National Forests; the most inspiring places I’ve been, I’ve found by driving down a dirt road to my own personal campsite with a million-dollar view built in. Who needs a pricey penthouse when your backyard gives you an ever-changing, million dollar view, right?
Personally, I keep a list of all the public lands that I want to visit, then fill in the travel gaps with the other camping options above. And hey, if I want to take a detour, no problem! I just go to this handy bag of options to get me to my destination.
